catalyst: broken

on Tue, 12/13/2016 - 22:08

Recorded live at Dogglounge.com on 2016-Dec-11.

So, well, I gotta admit that the live set of this show had a few … problems. Stupid, lazy DJ mistakes, like not having the volume down on a channel when I’m previewing the next track, and crap like that. I fixed it all in post-production (pre-podcast-release), but it doesn’t let me out of the obligation to admit I had some broken bits in this set. Thus, the title….

Also, I had just watched an awesome house music production video by Giom, so I played a few of his tracks as thanks.

Tracklist at either Mixcloud or Dogglounge.

I filled-in today for the other DJ that shares the Sunday afternoon time slot with me, as she had a milestone celebration to attend.

I felt a BIG pull to spin some nu-disco, so put on your disco shoes and break out the mirror ball for the middle 1/2 or more of this. (I LOVE NU-DISCO!)

Unite our nation by changing how we vote

Pundits are nearly unanimous in saying that the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the USA proves we are a “divided nation”. The campaigns demonstrated how candidates fanned extremist flames on all sides, making us believe the “other guys” will be absolutely terrible. That same extremism is reflected in the inability of the US Congress to function effectively, which in-turn fueled extremism among change-seeking voters.

But under it all, we are the same citizens who more-or-less got along until someone told us the other guys were evil.

This was an impromptu set. It was Saturday morning, and I had nothing to do, and felt musical. So I jumped on before Neonlogic played, which meant my set could only be one hour.

PS – and yes, I know the name of this podcast is super-similar to my one named Shorty. But I didn’t remember this until after I’d done the artwork & the MP3 mastering, and didn’t want to re-work it all. So, there ya go.
