catalyst: spring dance

on Wed, 05/11/2016 - 15:12

Recorded live at Dogglounge on Sunday, 8 May 2016. Here in Boston, spring has not been easy to enjoy because of much rain. But today, the sun was out, and I felt like dancing with joy. So this set is a bit more House than Deep House, because it is made for dancing!

Tracklist posted at the Dogglounge Podcast page.

Recorded live at Dogglounge Internet Radio on 2016 Feb 07 (right before the Super Bowl. Happy for the Bronco's fans, but was peeved that Brady got boo'd during the past Super Bowl MVPs recognition ceremony.)

Late last year I started a semi-regular show online, playing Deep House music. I've long been a listener to the station - Dogglounge.com - and am pleased to be invited to be a DJ there. My DJ name in life is "catalyst".

I generally post all my sets there online in the Podcast section, along with all the other DJs on the station. (Go there, and subscribe to the iTuens podcast feed to get all the sets downloaded to your iTunes / phone!) Or, pick up the Dogglounge Radio iOS app to listen directly and participate in the chat room with the DJs as they play.

I also post them online at my Mixcloud

Drupalcon 2012 DJ set

on Mon, 03/26/2012 - 16:12

Well, I found myself with an opportunity to spin tunes at the Denver 2012 Drupalcon conference party. Yes, Acquia (my company) sponsored it. So maybe it's no coincidence that I got the gig.... Nonetheless, I did need to get past the organizing committee (which means my style couldn't suck; but I didn't need to be a big-name guy, either. Lucky thing....)

And, let me just say it: I had a blast.  There were nearly 2,000 people in the party, and that's the most I've ever played in front of.

I played from 7:30pm to 1:15am.  I had only expected (and planned) to play about 3 hours.
